After China's accession to the WTO, it has brought both impact and opportunities to the domestic mold manufacturing industry. Overall, opportunities outweigh challenges. Why do you say this? Before China joined the WTO, the import of molds was basically a duty-free product. Domestic mold enterprises have long been independent of tariff barriers for protection, and surviving enterprises have long withstood the test of global economic integration competition. Moreover, after joining the WTO, it provides domestic enterprises with broader options and price reduction space in selecting imported production equipment and steel, creating favorable conditions for the domestic mold manufacturing industry to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance market competitiveness.
Of course, we cannot ignore that as some multinational corporations and internationally renowned enterprise groups enter China to establish factories, the most important factor in the cheap labor market that we rely on will no longer exist; The increased protection of intellectual property rights also requires us to pay a greater price in entering the field of high precision and cutting-edge mold manufacturing.
Looking back at the development of China's mold industry in recent years, the overall development level of our domestic mold manufacturing industry is good, the processing level of enterprises has been greatly improved, and the ability to earn foreign exchange through exports has been greatly enhanced. It not only resists the pressure of foreign manufacturers in the domestic market, but also demonstrates strong competitiveness in the international market. However, at the same time, domestic mold enterprises have also exposed some problems in the development process: firstly, the scale is relatively small; Secondly, the technology is relatively low; Thirdly, the scope involved is narrow; Fourthly, the impact on related industries is not significant in terms of driving capacity. Taking into account the above factors, the overall efficiency of the domestic mold manufacturing industry has not yet reached its best level, and its fundamental role in the national economy is not yet clear. In order to reverse the above situation, the author believes that in order for the domestic mold manufacturing industry to have a greater impact in the international market, it is necessary to strengthen the integration of technology and resources across the entire industry.

One is to strengthen division of labor and cooperation in the field of technology.
In recent years, although domestic mold exports have increased, the international competitiveness level has improved. But most of them are concentrated in mid to low-end fields, with low technological level and added value of molds. Some high-precision molds also rely on imports. Therefore, the domestic mold manufacturing industry needs to strengthen integration in their respective fields, without excessive competition. In terms of technology development, division of labor and cooperation should be implemented, and relevant industries and enterprises should take a long-term view, dive into their minds, and focus on research on new technologies and processes, gradually forming a division of labor, cooperation, and multi field A comprehensive scientific research and development pattern is in place, and mold products with independent intellectual property rights are launched. In the process of research, we must overcome the practice of closing doors and going solo. In today's global economic integration, we can do some forward-looking research based on the experience accumulated by our predecessors and peers, without having to bury ourselves in the technical work that others have already done, Causing waste of talent and resources.
The second is to accelerate the application of information technology.
We should devote ourselves to building a flexible and specialized manufacturing platform, continuously meeting the personalized needs of customers while improving our own scale and professional manufacturing level. Mass customization is a breakthrough in the traditional production model. It overcomes the dilemma of single piece, small batch and economies of scale, creating conditions for the improvement of the market competitiveness of our molds. The successful application of ERP technology has produced obvious results in some mold manufacturing enterprises, which makes it possible for mass customization production. ERP not only controls the manufacturing enterprise itself, but also extends management to customers and suppliers, which may drive the common development of mold related industries.
The third is to strengthen cooperation with suppliers and collaborative manufacturers.
It is necessary to implement a full process supply chain system management method, changing the previous large and comprehensive, even small and comprehensive production operation methods. The traditional manufacturing method of domestic mold enterprises is generally to design and produce everything from the core and cavity to a single screw and pin on their own, resulting in a long line of production and a small batch size. This not only wastes energy and resources, but also cannot guarantee a high-level professional level in every aspect
